Even before the premiere, insider NateTheHate reported that a new "classic-style" game is already in development and will be released this summer for Nintendo Switch 2. This is good news for a series that has been silent since 2016.
Details are scarce, but Nintendo seems to be betting on humor. Journalist Alex Donaldson noted in a podcast that he had heard: "the game is really very funny." In his opinion, this indicates a greater emphasis on the script and a "different vision" compared to previous installments.
This approach does not seem strange, although the very idea of anthropomorphic animals in a space war may already be comical. But taking into account Nintendo's experience with humor in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, where it was added through NPCs, it remains to wait for the reaction of the players.
