The RoboCop series reboot has been given the green light. According to The Ankler, the new head of Amazon MGM Studios' television division, Peter Friedlander, has approved the production of the project for Prime Video.
The series is being developed as part of Amazon's strategy to reimagine the MGM catalog, acquired in 2022. In 2024, it was reported that Peter Ocko, known for his work on "The Office" and "Black Sails," is the showrunner and writer of the project. James Wan may also be involved in the production as an executive producer.
It is unclear whether this is the same version of the series or whether the concept has been reworked since then. It is also unknown whether the show will be a complete reboot or will be connected to the original films.
