Battlestate Games has revealed details of the fight against cheaters and the ban system in Escape from Tarkov. In a new blog, the developers summarized the results for the first quarter of 2026 and explained in detail for the first time the reasons for blocking players.

From January to March 2026, about 25,000 accounts were blocked in the game. At the same time, only 54% of them were caught directly using cheats. The remaining 46% were banned for other violations: participation in the purchase and sale of in-game valuables for real money, the use of bots for leveling, scripts and other prohibited software.

The developers also dispelled a number of common myths about the punishment system. According to them, waves of bans occur daily, and the total number of hacked accounts and blockings continues to grow since the release of the game. At the same time, the studio admitted that erroneous bans are still possible, but the violation detection system has been significantly improved over the past year.

In the future, the developers plan to strengthen the game's protection by introducing TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot, which should complicate the use of cheats. The addition of VBS, IOMMU and HVCI technologies is also being considered - Windows security mechanisms that protect the system at the kernel level.

In addition, the team is working on new methods for detecting violators and a more automated system for identifying cheaters. The developers emphasized that the fight against unfair players remains a "cat-and-mouse game", but they intend to reduce the time during which cheaters can remain undetected.
