Saudi investment structures continue to actively strengthen their positions in the gaming industry — this time in Japan. According to GameBiz, Electronic Gaming Development Company (EGDC) has increased its stake in Capcom by 1.01%.
EGDC's share increased from 5.03% to 6.04%. In absolute terms, this means that Saudi investors now own 32.18 million shares of the Japanese company. At the same time, EGDC emphasized that it considers the participation as "exclusively investment".
Capcom is not the only Japanese asset in EGDC's portfolio. Previously, in November 2020, the investment firm entered into an agreement with SNK, known for the Fatal Fury series, becoming the majority owner of the company.
