Pre-order for the Russian version of "Hunger" - a vampire board game from the creator of MTG is open

This year, with the help of the "Hunger" board game, users from Russia will be able to become vampires, hunt mortals, encounter werewolves, and outwit other bloodsuckers.

Hobby World Publishing announced that pre-orders for the Russian version of the "Hunger" board game by the famous game designer Richard Garfield, who gave the world "Magic: The Gathering", "King of Tokyo" and "Android: Netrunner", have opened on the CrowdRepublic crowdfunding platform.

Currently, the base game can be purchased for 2990 rubles, and a set with "Hunger" and the "Sink Fangs" expansion for 4490 rubles. All pre-order participants will receive a promo set with unique cards as a gift.

In this board game, vampires have to hunt people, score victory points, complete tasks, try to reach the rose, and return to the castle before dawn. On their turn, participants spend speed to move around the map and hunt to get new cards into the deck.

The more actively a player hunts, the slower they become. The deck grows, it becomes more difficult to move, and the way back becomes more dangerous. The winner is the one who manages to return on time and scores more victory points.

Games are not limited to one strategy. Some hardly hunt at all in order to reach the unique rose and acquire a strong permanent ability. Some bet on treasures and advantageous locations on the map. Some collect goals through crypts and adjust the game to them. And some simply arrange a large vampire feast near the castle, trying to score easy points while others risk delving too deep into the wilds.

The "Sink Fangs" expansion introduces threats to the game. These are vampire hunters and werewolves who appear on the hunting field, inflict wounds, and create new risks, but for defeating them, you can unlock good rewards.

To combat threats and attack opponents, the expansion introduces a new parameter — attack. It is present in the new starting cards and allows you not only to hunt more effectively, but also to hit other vampires, forcing them to discard cards and disrupting their tempo.

The Russian version of "Hunger" should reach warehouses in June 2026.
