Voice actor Ben Starr, known for his roles in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Final Fantasy XVI, has called on the gaming industry to abandon its excessive reliance on sequels and remasters and focus on creating new original projects.

According to Starr, the industry is currently experiencing a stage where major studios are taking risks less and less often. The reason for this is the rapidly growing development budgets, which make it more difficult for companies to recoup their projects. In such conditions, publishers prefer to bet on already known franchises and proven formulas in order to minimize potential losses.

Starr emphasized that the industry needs to "move forward, not look back". He noted that, despite his love for classic series like Legacy of Kain, developers should be more active in creating new intellectual property that can interest the audience.
