According to Playground Games Art Director Don Arceta, the map in Forza Horizon 6 will be the largest in the history of the franchise. However, it will not be possible to explore it completely from the very beginning - for the first time in the series, a "fog of war" system will appear. This means that locations will only open as the player physically visits them.
Design Director Thorben Ellert, as part of the official Xbox podcast, noted that the new system helps to better track exploration progress. In addition, all content is built on the principle: "found it - then you can ride."
The developers emphasize that freedom remains a key element of the gameplay. Players will not be forced to complete specific tasks - instead, they will be motivated to explore the world and participate in activities at their own will.
