The show will feature games from Sony's partners.
It seems that Sony is preparing the second State of Play presentation this year — and it may take place as early as next week.
This was reported by insider NateTheHate, who has repeatedly accurately predicted the dates of such events, including the February State of Play release. Initially, he hinted that the new show would take place "long before June 2026", which coincides with the Summer Game Fest 2026 period. However, later the insider decided to clarify the information and named a specific date — April 16.
According to the insider, the upcoming State of Play, if it does take place, will be more focused on games from third-party developers.
It is noteworthy that a full announcement of the remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag under the name Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is also rumored to be scheduled for April 16. The coincidence of dates may indicate that both events are related and will be part of the same presentation.
At the same time, NateTheHate himself emphasizes that the information has not yet been officially confirmed. Nevertheless, the appearance of two independent rumors at once, potentially pointing to the same event, adds weight to them.
