FromSoftware and Bandai Namco are apparently preparing to announce the release date for the Switch 2 version of Elden Ring. A pre-order page for the Tarnished Edition, priced at $79.99, has been spotted on Amazon.
The indicated date—December 31, 2026—is clearly a placeholder, but the box art looks authentic. According to the information on the page, the game will be distributed in keycard format. This may disappoint collectors of physical copies, although this decision is understandable: even with optimization, the full size of the game, together with the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, reaches about 75 GB, which makes releasing a full cartridge difficult.
Initially, the Elden Ring Tarnished Edition was planned for release in 2026, but the project was later postponed amid reports of performance issues.
