Marvel Television has unveiled the first trailer for the special "The Punisher: The Last Kill," in which Jon Bernthal reprises his role as Frank Castle. The project will be released on Disney+ on May 12 and will be the studio's longest special, with a runtime of approximately one hour.
The trailer doesn't reveal plot details, but the synopsis reveals that Castle is trying to find meaning in life beyond revenge, but an "unexpected force" draws him back into conflict.
The special's script was written by Jon Bernthal himself, along with director Reinaldo Marcus Green. According to Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, the project combines dynamic action with the emotional depth and pathos characteristic of Castle's stories.
It is assumed that "The Last Kill" will be a bridge between the series "Daredevil: Born Again" and the film "Spider-Man: A New Day." The special will be released a week after the finale of the second season of "Daredevil," and Frank Castle himself will play an important role in Tom Holland's fourth solo film, which is scheduled for release on July 31.
