Starfield is experiencing a new surge in popularity on Steam - the game hasn't reached such numbers in almost 2 years.
On Wednesday and Thursday evenings, April 8 and 9, 2026, the online presence of Bethesda's space role-playing game almost reached 21,000 concurrent players. This is an important moment: for the first time since September 2024, when the Shattered Space expansion was released, the game managed to exceed 20,000 users again.
The sharp increase in interest is due to several factors at once: the release on PS5 and the release of major updates on all platforms. Players received the paid Terran Armada expansion and the largest free Free Lanes update. At the same time, Wednesday's figures were higher than Tuesday's (19 thousand players), which indicates a growing interest in the new content.
Perhaps this is only the beginning of growth. There is a chance that thanks to the new additions, Starfield will surpass the results of the Shattered Space release during the weekend. Usually, it is the first weekend after major patches that brings maximum activity to Steam, so the peak is yet to come.
