However, those who downloaded it received not a "demo version of Half-Life 3", but something else. It turned out to be a demo version of the game Meaningless Random Numbers — an incremental horror game, which is expected to be released in 2026.
It is assumed that this demo version was not supposed to become public yet. It was accidentally noticed by tech enthusiasts who were looking for information about the new Half-Life.
