"The Super Mario Bros. Movie" continues to perform strongly in the global box office. According to preliminary results from the second weekend, the film has surpassed the $600 million mark, grossing over $300 million in the USA and approximately $300 million in international markets. Thus, the project became the first Hollywood release of the year to reach these figures.

Exact data will be available by the evening of April 12, but it is already expected that after the second weekend, the gross will be around $310 million in the domestic box office and $327 million outside of North America, bringing the total gross to $637 million.

It is noteworthy that the film achieved such results against the backdrop of restrained reviews from critics. It has 37 points on Metacritic, and the rating on Rotten Tomatoes is around 43%. At the same time, viewers, as in the case of the first part, received the film noticeably warmer. It has an A- rating on CinemaScore and about 89% user rating on Rotten Tomatoes. This indicates a clear gap in perception: the audience seems to perceive the film as an attraction for fans and does not require the depth that critics pointed out was lacking.

In Russian cinemas, the premiere of "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" took place on April 9.
