In some cases, prices have jumped by as much as $500.
Microsoft has announced an increase in prices for devices in the Microsoft Surface line. This decision is due to the continued increase in the cost of components, primarily RAM and SSD drives.
We remain committed to providing value to customers and partners while maintaining our standards of quality and innovation.
The changes will affect almost all current Surface models, including the Surface Laptop and Surface Pro series. Depending on the configuration, the cost of devices can increase by up to $500, especially in the case of flagship versions.
The price increase will be especially noticeable for budget models. Previously affordable devices are now effectively out of the under $1,000 category:
- Surface Pro 12 has risen in price from $799 to $1,049
- Surface Laptop 13 has increased in price from $899 to $1,199
The mid-range segment will also experience a significant increase in prices. For example, the Surface Pro 13 will increase in price by a total of $500 compared to the starting price; after the previous increase in 2025, its cost will increase by another $300. In the configuration with a Snapdragon X Plus processor, 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD, the device becomes one of the most expensive in the line.
A similar situation is observed with the Surface Laptop 13.8 and Surface Laptop 15 models; their price now reaches $1599.
