The first feature film in the "Game of Thrones" universe has been subtitled "Aegon's Conquest" and will tell about the events that formed the basis of the entire history of Westeros — the unification of the Seven Kingdoms under the rule of Aegon I Targaryen. The film is set approximately 300 years before the events of the original series, making it a prequel to the entire franchise.
The screenplay for the movie "Game of Thrones: Aegon's Conquest" will be written by Beau Willimon, who previously worked as the showrunner of "House of Cards" and the screenwriter of "Andor."
The studio has not yet announced even approximate release dates, but it is now known that the project is being developed specifically as a feature film. It was previously reported that Warner Bros. was considering various formats, from an epic film saga in the spirit of Denis Villeneuve's "Dune" to a series for HBO Max.
