Despite the warm reception from players and critics, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown failed to achieve the commercial success that Ubisoft had hoped for.
By the end of that year, it became known about Ubisoft's decision to disband the project's development team — the news caused disappointment among fans. However, now the situation may change.
French journalist Gautoz, who previously reported on the team's closure, claims that Ubisoft is ready to give the "main team" of developers a second chance. According to him, the company is going to accept new ideas and concepts for future games from them.
It is not yet specified what kind of projects are being discussed. It is possible that the team's new proposals will not be related to the Prince of Persia series at all. At the same time, Gautoz emphasizes that we are talking about key participants in the development of The Lost Crown — a relatively small group of specialists who, if necessary, will be able to attract additional employees.
