Some fans have long dreamed of a full-fledged remake, and not the Mafia II: Definitive Edition that was offered to players.
Fans of the Mafia franchise have hope for the return of Mafia II in an updated format.
Mafia Game Videos noted that Hangar 13 was "spotted recording sounds for weapons from Mafia II."
They also recalled the words of the game director of Hangar 13: he called Mafia: The Old Country a "soft reboot", and noted that the developers "very much hope that this will be the beginning of a new series of Mafia games." In addition, the head of Take-Two noted the financial success of The Old Country.
Rumor has it that a full-fledged remake may be developed for Mafia II, as was the case with the first part (Mafia: Definitive Edition), and the story of Mafia: The Old Country will allegedly be continued.
