Bethesda Game Studios has begun an official "rescue operation" for Starfield on Sony consoles. On April 17, 2026, an urgent hotfix was released to address freezing issues.
The first to receive help were PlayStation 5 Pro owners, especially users of the "Enhanced" advanced graphics settings. It was they who experienced the most technical glitches that severely hampered the gameplay, causing a wave of criticism on social media.
Standard PlayStation 5 owners will have to wait. Bethesda confirmed that work on the fixes is underway, but a separate hotfix for the basic version will be released only next week.
For some players who were waiting for the release after the success of the PC and Xbox versions, the launch turned out to be problematic – a stable game became unavailable, and the first impressions were ruined.
