Pre-order for the NEO GEO Advanced Entertainment System+ Arcade System Opens

The NEO GEO Advanced Entertainment System+ console, fully compatible with original NEO GEO AES cartridges, is expected to be released in November. This device is not an FPGA system and does not use emulation, so it is sure to appeal to hardcore retro gaming fans.

SNK and PLAION have announced the NEO GEO Advanced Entertainment System+ arcade system. The device uses ASIC, providing a completely authentic experience at both the "hardware" and software levels.

The new device is so authentic that the NEO GEO AES+ is fully compatible with original NEO GEO AES cartridges — this is ideal for those who already have a collection of games but want to play on modern screens.

The console features spot improvements for convenience. In addition to the standard AV output for CRT monitor enthusiasts, the new device has a low-latency HDMI output, which finally allows you to enjoy games in HD quality with resolutions up to 1080p.

The on-screen BIOS menu and DIP switches located at the bottom of the device allow you to instantly switch the region language, overclock the system, or select display modes. In addition, the console now consumes less power and permanently saves player records for each game.

At the same time as the console, the team will release a collection of ten classic NEO GEO games. On the first day, players will be able to purchase the following projects: Metal Slug, The King of Fighters 2002, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Big Tournament Golf, Shock Troopers, Samurai Shodown V Special, Pulstar, Twinkle Star Sprites, Magician Lord and Over Top.

Currently, the standard edition of the NEO GEO Advanced Entertainment System+ with a wired arcade stick can be pre-ordered for $249.99 (black color). The anniversary edition in a snow-white design, which received a wireless arcade stick, a Metal Slug cartridge and a memory card, can be purchased for $349.99.

Also, for $999.99 you can buy the ultimate edition of the console, which contains the 10 games listed above, wired and wireless arcade sticks, and a wireless gamepad. The release of NEO GEO Advanced Entertainment System+ will take place on November 12, 2026.
