In the video, Dominic Vega, who is responsible for audio and missions, and composers from the duo The Flight explain how the soundtrack should accompany the hero on his way to the status of a legendary agent 00.
The developers call 007 First Light a "musically-oriented" game and approach each mission as a separate album with its own mood and drama — from quiet stealth to large-scale battles and chases. The music is built to dynamically respond to the style of passage: the system of layers and transitions allows you to seamlessly switch between tense stealth accompaniment and aggressive combat arrangements.
At the same time, IO Interactive deliberately uses the classic James Bond theme carefully. According to Vega, the hero must "earn" the iconic soundtrack: recognizable Bond motifs appear gradually and only in key moments, when the character approaches the usual image of the hero from the movie.
To create the soundtrack and sound effects, the team relies on a live orchestra, session musicians and large-scale field recordings — from shots to real supercars. All this, according to the authors, should give 007 First Light both sound and musical authenticity, emphasizing both the "rawness" of the young Bond and the cinematic scope of the franchise.
007 First Light will be released on May 27, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and the version for Nintendo Switch 2 is expected in the summer of 2026.
