Modders were able to successfully launch an improved version of the Valve classic.
The P2:CE Team modding team has announced the start of open beta testing for Portal 2: Community Edition. The project was presented on Steam.
This modification is a fan-made version of Portal 2 with performance improvements, material lighting, DirectX 11 support, improved tools for modders, and more.
Portal 2: Community Edition has been connected to the Steam Workshop, which will make it easy to install custom modifications.
The Steam release is just the beginning — the developers will continue to refine the modification. The original game in the library is required for Portal 2: Community Edition to work.
The first reviews of the project on Steam are "very positive."
