The story of another popular fan project is coming to an end.
Last year, Blizzard lawyers sued the creators of the unofficial Turtle WoW server. It recently became known that they have entered into a "confidential settlement agreement."
The modders announced the upcoming closure of the Turtle WoW project — after nearly 8 years of operation:
They say it is not the destination that matters, but the journey itself. But how long should a journey last to be remembered with warmth and love? We do not know. We only know that ours is coming to an end.
All Turtle WoW game realms will be closed on May 15, and the website, forum, and social media on October 16.
This is far from the only unofficial WoW project that has been shut down following a request from Blizzard.
