According to Insider-Gaming, the fate of the entire remake initiative directly depends on the commercial success of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. If the game does not show strong sales, the company may abandon further development of this direction — or limit itself to just one or two projects.
At the same time, a second remake in the Assassin’s Creed universe is already in development. However, according to sources, even its release depends on how successful the updated version of Black Flag turns out to be and whether it can meet the publisher's expectations.
Such caution is understandable from a financial point of view: Ubisoft is going through a difficult period associated with restructuring, mass layoffs, the cancellation of a number of projects, and the closure of some studios. Against this backdrop, the company is in urgent need of commercial success, and the return of one of the franchise's most beloved installments looks like a potentially reliable bet.
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced will receive new story elements, additional content, and updated gameplay systems. At the same time, the remake will not include multiplayer or downloadable add-ons from the original 2013 game.
