Publisher Devolver Digital and studio Heart Machine announced that the metroidvania Possessor(s) will be released on the Nintendo Switch 2 console on April 29.
The events of Possessor(s) unfold in the ruined megacity of Sanzu City, which has survived an interdimensional catastrophe. Players will take on the role of high school student Luca, who finds herself trapped among the ruins of a city filled with otherworldly horrors. After suffering severe injuries, the heroine makes a deal with a demon named Rem, who needs a host. Together, they try to survive in this chaos.
The gameplay combines elements of platform fighters and metroidvanias: the emphasis is on dynamic combat, aerial combos, and improvised weapons — from kitchen knives to a guitar and a computer mouse.
