Back in December 2025, the publisher Lavka Igr announced its intention to release in Russia the cooperative board game The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era from Chip Theory Games. On the BoardGameGeek portal, the project received a rating of 8.9 out of 10.
For a long time, no new information about this localization appeared, but today Lavka Igr employees announced that the next pre-order campaign will be dedicated specifically to this game (the launch date and prices will become known in the near future).
The board game is designed for 1–4 participants and transports them to Tamriel — the ancient continent of the world of Nirn, inhabited by many peoples and cultures. After the fall of the Second Empire, a period of interregnum began, accompanied by a bloody conflict known as the Three Banners War. Three alliances — the Ebonheart Pact, the Daggerfall Covenant, and the Aldmeri Dominion — are fighting for control of the Ruby Throne.
Meanwhile, a necromantic cult known as the Order of the Black Worm is summoning "dark anchors" — terrifying devices from another world capable of linking Tamriel with Coldharbour, the abode of the Daedra. Behind the scenes of these events, a powerful Bosmer elf is weaving a web of intrigue, seeking to exploit the turmoil and change Tamriel forever.
The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era is a three-episode campaign in which each subsequent episode takes into account the progress achieved earlier. In each episode, a party acting as agents of a particular guild undertakes an important mission.
During the game, participants play out encounters and gain experience points, which can be spent on character development. To complete the campaign, they will need to finish the final episode and stop the looming threat.
Gamers will be able to choose the race, gender, and class of their hero, explore cities and wastelands, find treasures, complete main and side quests, deal with traps, and gather valuable information. The goals of the journey may change, and successfully completing objectives brings experience and equipment.
While traveling across Tamriel, the party will face situations that require joint decisions: help a traveler or pass by, explore a cave or go around it, enter combat or try to negotiate. The outcome is determined by encounter cards, character attributes, and dice rolls.
