Jon Favreau Will Not Return for "Spider-Man: New Day" - Happy Hogan Forgot Peter Parker
The director of "The Mandalorian" will miss a Spider-Man solo film with Tom Holland for the first time.
Jon Favreau confirmed that he will not return to the role of Happy Hogan in the film "Spider-Man: New Day". The actor and director, who has played the character since the first "Iron Man", spoke about this in an interview on Jimmy Kimmel's show.
According to him, Happy simply does not fit into the current story. He directly stated that he is not involved in the project and added that the events of the previous film logically explain the absence of the hero, because after the events of "No Way Home", the whole world forgot about Peter Parker.
According to the official synopsis, "Spider-Man: New Day" will move Peter Parker's story four years forward after the events of "No Way Home". Peter Parker has finally faded into oblivion, but Spider-Man remains "at the peak of his form and guards the peace of New York", until a chain of crimes draws him into "a web of mysteries far grander than anything he has ever faced before."
The film will be released in theaters on July 31, 2026.
