Some enthusiasts use modern technologies to prank players awaiting Grand Theft Auto VI. They publish fake screenshots and “gameplay” videos disguised as leaks. Sometimes, very convincing footage emerges, and players long debate whether these materials are authentic or AI-generated.

Recently, the story of GTASixJoker went viral in the community. He publicly apologized for publishing fake GTA VI screenshots:

Hello everyone. As you probably already know, I received a cease and desist letter from Take-Two regarding my recent posts of fake GTA VI screenshots created with AI [...] We reached an agreement that I must publicly apologize for my actions, including disrespecting the Rockstar Games team and their work over the past seven years [...] From now on, I will stop publishing content that may seem controversial, such as fake AI-generated images, or anything that could be mistaken for Grand Theft Auto VI leaks.

However, this turned out to be a double prank: GTASixJoker waited until everyone discussed another “Take-Two lawyers' attack” and then revealed his scheme.

It turned out that his statement was also AI-generated in response to the prompt “Generate an apology for Take-Two for spreading fake GTA 6 leaks.”
