Avalanche Studios is Looking for Developers for an Unannounced Project
Avalanche Studios, after closing its Liverpool office, appears to have started development on a new open-world game. The studio, known for Just Cause, has opened a vacancy for a Senior Technical Designer. The contract is temporary - until February 28, 2027.
The description states that the specialist will play a “key role in the development of an unannounced AAA project.” Responsibilities include supporting the gameplay team, coordinating specialists, and working with technical design. The game is being created on the internal Apex Engine with visual scripting.
The position is open in the Stockholm office in Södermalm, a district that inspired the studio in creating “lush vegetation in Just Cause and theHunter: Call of the Wild” and “rusty metal in Mad Max.”
There are no official announcements for the new game. Earlier rumors circulated about a Mad Max sequel. The Contraband project from Xbox Game Studios was canceled in August 2025.
