Director Names New Sales Target for Resident Evil Requiem
Capcom continues its successful series in 2026. Following its February release, Resident Evil Requiem sold 7 million copies in less than two months. This was announced by director Koushi Nakanishi.
The previous milestone was recorded in March – over 6 million copies in less than three weeks. Analyst Mat Piscatella also confirmed its success in the US: the game became the fifth best-selling title in the entire series. Given its pace, Requiem is poised to become the fastest-selling installment.
The game is available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. It features two heroes with different gameplay, as well as free switching between first-person and third-person views – a first for the series.
A story expansion is planned (rumored to feature Leon S. Kennedy and possible involvement of Ada Wong). Nakanishi also confirmed work on a new mini-game, and according to dataminers, the Mercenaries mode might return to the game.
