In early April, fragments of the film "Avatar: The Last Airbender" began circulating online. First, individual scenes appeared in the public domain, followed by the full version of the film with unfinished special effects. For Paramount and Flying Bark studio, this was a serious blow, especially against the backdrop of the controversial decision to forgo a theatrical release.

Now, according to Variety, citing the Singaporean newspaper The Straits Times, a 26-year-old man has been arrested in Singapore on suspicion of distributing the film before its official release. Investigators believe he gained unauthorized remote access to a media server, downloaded the project, and uploaded it online.

During the search, police seized electronic devices. A digital copy of the film was found on one of them. If the man is found guilty, he faces up to seven years in prison and a fine of up to 50 thousand dollars.

Earlier, representatives of Flying Bark emphasized that the leak was not related to the studio's internal processes and spoke out sharply about the situation. The team had hoped to present the results of years of work to viewers in a normal format, rather than watching the film being distributed on social media "like candy."

The official premiere of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" on Paramount+ is scheduled for October 2026.
