At a major Tekken 8 tournament, an unusual and touching moment occurred that quickly went viral on social media: a couple in a relationship met in the Top 8 bracket.
This refers to a competition within LVL UP EXPO – a festival dedicated to games, anime, and pop culture, where esports tournaments traditionally take place. This year, the Tekken 8 tournament gathered 137 participants, including well-known players such as Arslan Ash, Cuddle Core, kkokkoma, and Rangchu.
However, the main event was not the famous esports players, but the duo of players under the nicknames Fear of Silence and SVL. They managed to break into the Top 8 through the lower bracket – and found themselves against each other in the very first match.
Before the fight, both shared their emotions on social media. Fear of Silence posted a photo with his girlfriend in a “fighting stance,” writing that he was happy to share the stage with her. In turn, SVL humorously noted that her first opponent in the Top 8 was her own boyfriend.
When the players came on stage, they shook hands, and then exchanged a short kiss – this moment instantly spread across the internet and became one of the most discussed episodes of the tournament.
The match itself ended with Fear of Silence winning 2:0. After that, SVL was eliminated from the tournament, and Fear of Silence advanced, where he lost to Cuddle Core in the lower bracket quarterfinals.
In the fighting game community, this match caused a wave of jokes and warm comments. Users wrote: “The loser washes the dishes!”, “This is incredibly cute!” and “Now you sleep on the couch.”
