The Finnish extraction shooter Road to Vostok recently launched in early access on Steam. In just a few weeks, the game's creator has sold over 250,000 copies, and the funds raised will allow him to finance the entire development roadmap.
He plans to spend approximately 85% of the earned funds on creating new content, while the remaining money will be allocated to "brand building" and "research and investments."
A patch for Road to Vostok is expected to be released in the next 2-3 weeks, which will include "missing content" (which the developer did not manage to include in the release build of the game). In addition, this update will include technical improvements and bug fixes.
If there are no serious problems after the update, the developer will take a short break until the end of May. He will outsource some tasks, so this mini-vacation does not mean a complete halt to work on Road to Vostok.
By the end of Q3 2026, he plans to release a major update with the Nomads faction. Players will be able to complete quests and trade with them.
It will be possible to help the nomads during battles with bandits. This will increase reputation, and subsequently, the character will be able to make nomad friends with whom they can travel together and interact in the shelter.
The AI will be refined: military personnel will become more dangerous than ordinary bandits. The developer's goal is for each faction to have unique behavior.
"Build 4 – Gunslinger" is being prepared for Road to Vostok, featuring dozens of weapon models and the ability to customize them.
