Actor Tom Blyth has shared details about the Watch Dogs movie adaptation for the first time in a long while. In an interview with Screen Rant, he spoke about the script's strengths and hinted at its relevance, emphasizing that the film addresses pressing issues of modern digital society.
According to Blyth, even though he is not an avid gamer, he is familiar with the game series, and the screenwriters managed to adapt its ideas to today's realities. The actor noted that the film "literally dissects our modern world," focusing on the risks of total digitalization, mass surveillance, and dependence on technology. However, he admitted that he could not reveal more details about the project.
The film is being produced by Ubisoft, New Regency, Sony Pictures, and Columbia Pictures, but they still haven't shared any new information. The last news about the film appeared back in 2024: filming started in July and concluded in September of the same year.
The script was written by Christie LeBlanc, and Mathieu Turi directed. In addition to Blyth, the cast includes Sophie Wilde, Markella Kavenagh, and Victoria Bata.
