Yana Lantratova, head of the State Duma Committee on the Development of Civil Society, Issues of Public and Religious Associations, proposed introducing a video game licensing system similar to rental certificates. Ms. Lantratova also believes that Russian developers should be more actively supported.
We need to start with small steps, I spoke about elementary things — rental certificates by analogy with films, which exist, at least for computer games. In my proposals for supporting our Russian video games, a lot of attention is paid to this, and to the topic of traditional values, supporting those structures that make games with traditional values, this is very important, this is very necessary, we need to work on this.
At the same time, Lantratova did not go into detail about how the initiative would be implemented.
If a rental certificate for games operates by analogy with films, then without it, the title will be prohibited from distribution in the Russian Federation.
We remind you that at one time Lantratova promoted the initiative to ban a large number of Western games, including The Last of Us, Apex Legends, Assassin's Creed, and others.
