Cache map returns to Counter-Strike 2 after seven years out of the competitive map pool
Valve continues to delight the CS2 community. Now, the beloved map is once again available in "competitive" mode and beyond.
In late April, Valve introduced a major update for Counter-Strike 2, which it had been teasing in recent days. The legendary Cache map, known and loved by many fans of the online shooter, has returned to the game.
Cache is now available in "Competitive" and "Casual" modes, in addition to "Deathmatch" and "Retake."
The community of blogger "Rayz" noted an interesting fact: the Cache map was added to the competitive map pool after 2588 days – it was removed on March 29, 2019.
Some other changes:
- Minor changes and mix adjustments.
- Fixed a bug where C4 equip sound was not interrupted by other equip sounds.
- Removed first-person death sound that played if music kit was not audible.
- Minor adjustments to viewmodel animations.
- Talon and Karambit knives are now held correctly during bomb defusal.
- On Dust II, the Mid Box (Xbox) was "exposed" to open up a jumping spot.
Reviews of the Cache map are already being published online, for example, the ESL Counter-Strike YouTube channel presented a trailer with a "fly-through" of the map – you can check it out at the following link.
