Nintendo finished off a popular YouTube channel - the author gave up after strikes

Large corporations know how to fiercely protect intellectual property, and Japanese Nintendo has long been known for its strict approach to this issue.

Another popular author has fallen victim to this policy. The YouTube channel PokéNational Geographic, beloved by thousands of players and entirely dedicated to Pokémon, will be permanently closed after a series of serious copyright claims.

The channel was hit by a wave of warnings directly from Nintendo's lawyers. The claims covered a wide range of content, from gameplay recordings and analysis to the use of original music from Pokémon games.

In a farewell address to his audience, the author briefly commented on the situation:

I can't fight this.

A legal battle with a corporation of this magnitude would be financially and psychologically devastating for an independent YouTuber, so he decided to close the channel within a few days – he has 7 days from April 26.
