75-year-old Russian Woman Talks About the Benefits of Video Games
The pensioner has mastered not only simple PC quests but also complex projects on PlayStation 4.
Not everyone sees danger in video games; quite the opposite, they consider them a useful pastime. A 75-year-old pensioner recently spoke with REN TV and shared her gaming experience.
For Alla Zhivetieva, video games have become a way to maintain health and leisure. After retiring, she had a lot of free time and began to take an interest in games. Initially, these were various projects on her laptop – simple quests where the player had to find items, as well as solitaire. Over time, the woman began to master more complex projects.
One day, her son gave her a PlayStation 4. According to the woman, playing games on this console requires solving logical problems, and using the controller engages nerve endings and serves as exercise for fine motor skills of the hands:
When I play. Even when I hold the joystick, imagine how many nerve endings are here. And when I engage all of this, it becomes exercise, motor skills of the hands.
REN TV also quotes psychiatrist Mikhail Baryshev. The specialist noted that a passion for video games is "an effective prevention of cognitive decline," as during the game, a person is constantly forced to use their thinking abilities:
That is, I play, I think, my brain, therefore, works. I maintain all of this.
