007 First Light has already garnered press praise - first impressions are out
007 First Light by IO Interactive will be released on May 27, 2026. Long gameplay segments have already appeared online, and journalists' first impressions have been extremely positive.
According to them, the studio, known for Hitman, has adapted well to the world of James Bond. They particularly highlight the freedom of action and mission structure. Players are offered large, detailed locations that can be approached in various ways – stealthily, with gadgets, through environmental interaction, or in direct combat.
The scenes shown feature a young Bond, just starting his career as an agent. This is not the perfect 007, which, according to the press, makes the story fresher.
The visuals are also praised: smooth animations, spectacular action scenes, and locations that look like frames from an expensive movie.
Journalists note that the gameplay already looks solid. IO Interactive is focusing on long gameplay sections and is not hiding the project from the audience.
Opinions are emerging that 007 First Light already looks like a potential candidate for “Game of the Year 2026”.
