George Martin approved the Elden Ring adaptation: "Alex Garland is a first-class director"
The Elden Ring adaptation has received approval from one of the key architects of the universe.
George Martin, who participated in the creation of Elden Ring's mythology, spoke positively about the upcoming game adaptation. In his blog, the writer left a comment indicating that he is pleased with the choice of A24 studio and director Alex Garland.
"A24 is a fantastic studio, and Alex Garland is a first-class director."
The Elden Ring film will be the most expensive project in A24's history. According to media reports, the film's budget significantly exceeds $100 million. For a studio primarily known for intimate and auteur works, this is a serious step towards big-budget cinema.
Filming began in April. Judging by leaked set photos, the film's events will unfold before the original FromSoftware game, but official details and a synopsis are not yet available.
The film is scheduled for release on March 3, 2028. The cast includes Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw, Cailee Spaeny, Nick Offerman, Tom Burke, Havana Rose Liu, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonathan Pryce, Emma Laird, and others.
