According to a report by Alinea Analytics, Xbox games released on PS5 have already brought Microsoft approximately $667 million – and this is after accounting for the commission Sony receives from digital sales.

The most successful release was Forza Horizon 5, with about 5.8 million copies sold. This is followed by Sea of Thieves (2.7 million), The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered (1.2 million), and Grounded (approximately 770 thousand). The statistics only include projects that have surpassed the 100,000 copies mark.

However, not all games showed comparable results. For example, Age of Mythology Retold only reached about 120 thousand sales, The Outer Worlds 2 – approximately 163 thousand, Age of Empires II Definitive Edition – 173 thousand, and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 – about 252 thousand.

More recent releases show mixed results. Starfield, despite technical issues at launch, exceeded 200 thousand copies sold on PS5. In turn, DOOM The Dark Ages and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle sold just over 500 thousand copies each, while Gears of War Reloaded is approaching the 700 thousand mark.

It should be noted that this report does not include major franchises such as Call of Duty and Diablo IV, so the actual revenues could be even higher.
