Work on the large-scale strategy game is gradually progressing. The developers are slowly revealing some elements of Total War: Warhammer 40,000.

Recently, Creative Assembly studio held a special stream during which they discussed the studio's projects. The developers talked about Total War: Warhammer 40,000 and also showed a selection of early footage.

For example, it was possible to see a "hive planet," which features a network of hive cities. The developer broadly described how the process of capturing a planet might look for a player:

You will have to advance from region to region on these continents, with the goal of capturing a key area or an important point within them. And during these conflicts, you will encounter a wide variety of scales... well, civilization and, let's say, map density, etc. This gives a great opportunity to find yourself, for example, in more desolate, devastated locations – you can imagine fighting on the outskirts of these hives. There will essentially be wasteland battles, where there is almost nothing. Only a couple of elements scattered here and there, but overall everything is quite lifeless, except for a few points of interest. And then, as you advance towards the hive itself and into it, the battles become much denser, with an emphasis on narrow passages.

Then the developers showed the battlefields and noted that in Total War: Warhammer 40,000, players will have the opportunity to destroy cover. However, they clarified that not all objects in the game will be destructible – the mechanic was used where it "works, makes sense, and adds depth."

You can add Total War: Warhammer 40,000 to your wishlist on Steam here. The release date of the game has not yet been announced.
