Anime fighting game Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina announced - first teaser shown

Aniplex and French-Bread are preparing an updated version of Melty Blood: Type Lumina.

Aniplex and French-Bread studio announced the fighting game Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina at the Evo Japan 2026 tournament. The game will be an updated version of Melty Blood: Type Lumina and will be released in early 2027 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Xbox Series X|S are not yet listed among the platforms.

The original Melty Blood: Type Lumina was released in 2021 and was the first main installment in the series since Melty Blood: Actress Again. The game is based on the world of the visual novel Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon and offers separate storylines for characters in a visual novel format, as well as battles with an emphasis on aerial combos, shields, magical abilities, and other signature mechanics.

In the new version, the developers promise a refined combat system, new mechanics, and additional characters. The teaser also hints at a continuation of the story, but details are not yet available.
