Control Resonant will expand the world and add "many more creatures"

Control Resonant is betting on changes. Instead of the Oldest House, players will explore a distorted Manhattan and fight returning enemies - the Hiss and the Mold, which have become more aggressive.

The key focus is on world-building. Lead Level Designer Anne-Marie Grönroos explained:

Imagine a place that was Manhattan, but it was taken over by a paranormal force that could have been in the first game, or it could be something completely new.” The game will feature several factions, with their presence varying in different zones.

Art Director Elmeri Raitanen added:

Now it’s not just the FBC trying to maintain control, but a full-fledged world with its own history, where different factions are fighting for power.

The developers also responded to criticism of the original – the lack of enemy variety. According to animator Annika Lehtinen, the game will have “many more creatures.” Among them – even a bus. Some enemies were created using motion capture, which was handled by Thomas Nilsson.

Control Resonant is expected to be released in 2026 on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. The game will also feature New Game Plus with new ability nodes, a fourth artifact slot, and enhanced enemies and bosses with new tactics.
