A discussion erupted around Resident Evil Requiem after the demonstration of NVIDIA DLSS 5 technology. Viewers noticed that the use of upscaling allegedly significantly changed the appearance of the heroine named Grace, which caused a wave of criticism.

Producer Masato Kumazawa, in a new interview, did not directly comment on the team's involvement in the controversial demonstration. However, he made it clear that in the future, developers will be more attentive to technologies that can affect the artistic vision. According to him, the players' reaction even proved useful: many noted that they prefer Grace's original design and do not want to change it. This, as Kumazawa noted, confirms that the heroine's image was successfully chosen and quickly became popular among fans.

However, the positive reception of the character does not mean that the studio intends to rely solely on new heroes. Game director Koushi Nakanishi emphasized that the team does not have a strict rule to constantly update the cast of characters or "rejuvenate" the franchise. According to him, the developers do not feel the need to replace recognizable heroes with younger versions.

As an example, Nakanishi cited Leon Kennedy, who, in his opinion, remains an attractive character even with age. He added that the hero may well return in future games even at an advanced age - and will not lose his charisma.
