New Call of Duty Will Not Be Released on PS4 and Xbox One Consoles

Activision has officially confirmed that the next installment in the Call of Duty series will not be released on last-generation consoles. This refers to the supposed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which, according to the developers, is not in development for PlayStation 4.
Thus, the franchise is finally saying goodbye to the PS4 generation and likely Xbox One after more than ten years of supporting these platforms.
The discussions were sparked by rumors that emerged over the weekend: insider Alaix claimed that the new installment was allegedly being tested on PS4. However, Activision quickly responded by refuting this information on social media.
It's unclear where this came from, but it's not true. The next Call of Duty is not being developed for PS4.
Although the company did not directly mention Xbox One, experts consider it unlikely that the game would be released on only one of the older platforms. The official announcement of the new Call of Duty installment has not yet taken place, but details are expected to be revealed this summer – likely during the Xbox Games Showcase in June.
