Mundfish studio is not yet rushing to implement new technologies like NVIDIA DLSS 5 and AI-based tools, preferring a wait-and-see approach.
According to company head Robert Bagratuni, DLSS 5 is "new and very promising" technology, but the team is currently only closely monitoring its development. The studio emphasized that a decision on possible integration will be made later, after a thorough evaluation of its benefits for players. Currently, Atomic Heart already supports previous DLSS versions, including Super Resolution and Frame Generation.
Separately, the head of Mundfish also commented on the topic of using artificial intelligence in game development – another controversial issue in the industry. Despite acknowledging the benefits of neural networks, such as accelerating prototyping and reducing production times, the studio decided not to implement AI into current workflows.
Bagratuni noted that the team strives to maintain a balance between technology and human creativity. In his opinion, AI can be a useful tool, but it cannot replace the creative work of developers. However, Mundfish does not rule out that they may reconsider their decision and start using such technologies in the future.
