The One Piece anime remake by WIT Studio will premiere on Netflix in February 2027. The first season of THE ONE PIECE will focus on the East Blue Saga, covering the prologue and the first six arcs.

The season will be released in its entirety: viewers will be shown all seven episodes on the same day. With a modest number of episodes, their total runtime will be approximately 300 minutes. The first season will adapt about 50 chapters of Eiichiro Oda's manga and bring the story up to Luffy's meeting with Sanji at the Baratie floating restaurant.

WIT Studio, known for the first seasons of "Attack on Titan," "Vinland Saga," and "Spy x Family," is responsible for the production. Masashi Koizuka is the director, and Taku Kishimoto is the screenwriter.

Previously, the team explained that they intend to preserve the adventurous spirit of One Piece, remove unnecessary pacing issues, and use modern animation techniques. According to the creators, this will help attract a new audience who might be put off by the outdated visuals of the original.

Meanwhile, the original One Piece anime continues to air. After a hiatus, the series returned on April 5, 2026, with the Elbaf arc and switched to a new schedule: up to 26 episodes per year, divided into two cours.
