According to Nexus Point News, several new writers known for popular TV series have joined the team working on the sequel to "It: Welcome to Derry".
Among the new names are Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar, who worked on the series "Dark" and "1899". Jessica Mecklenburg, who contributed to "Stranger Things", Jon McCutcheon ("The Penguin"), Donald Joh ("Snowpiercer"), and Tara Shivakumar, a producer for the series "Fallout", are also involved in the project.
The second season has not yet received an official announcement, but work on it has been underway behind the scenes since late last year. This is evidenced by statements from showrunners Andres and Barbara Muschietti, as well as HBO head Casey Bloys. In January, he said that the showrunners were developing a second season plot "that they deem worthy," after which he would "happily greenlight" the continuation.
According to Andres Muschietti's original plans, the second season will go even further back in time and set the action in 1935, focusing on the story of the Bradley gang. Whether this concept will change during the development process is still unknown.
