The project is led by Casey Hudson, creator of the first KOTOR and the Mass Effect trilogy. He has assembled a team of BioWare veterans with whom he has worked for the past 20 years.
The studio's roster reads like a list of key figures from classic role-playing games:
- Chris Bain and Ryan Hoyle (studio co-founders);
- Dan Fessenden (game design for Dragon Age: Inquisition);
- Caroline Livingston (voice acting for Mass Effect and Dragon Age);
- Melanie Falknor (BioWare producer).
Art director Pascal Blanche, who worked on Assassin’s Creed and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Conviction, has also joined the team. His experience is expected to give the game a darker sci-fi style.
The developers clarify: Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic will not be a continuation of known stories. It is an entirely new storyline with new characters.
