According to Deadline, Matthew Lillard has joined the cast of "Superman: Man of Tomorrow." The actor's role has not yet been revealed, and the studio traditionally declined to comment. This will be Lillard's and James Gunn's first collaboration since "Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed," released in 2004.
David Corenswet will return as Clark Kent, joined by actors familiar from the first part. Nicholas Hoult will once again play Lex Luthor, and Rachel Brosnahan will return as Lois Lane. New faces announced include Lars Eidinger as the antagonist Brainiac, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, and Edi Gathegi, who will once again play Mister Terrific.
Production of the film has already begun. The premiere of "Superman: Man of Tomorrow" is scheduled for July 9, 2027.
